One step at a time

It is kind of a metaphor for the transplant journey…one step at a time – along with a great support network of family, friends and great people – makes getting to the finish line seems so much easier. The first annual Children’s Organ Transplant Society walk in Richmond Sunday morning was a big success, according to our little princess. She got to meet several other transplant recipients and hear their inspiring stories.

Just a few months ago, Aaron and I didn’t even know COTS existed, but now they are a part of our extended family. We have met such a wonderful group of people who are walking the same path, and it gives us so much hope. Already, Addison is being recruited for the Canada Transplant Games and World Transplant Games! The 2015 WTG will be in Argentina and I’ve checked…there is a “Juniors” category with an ‘under 5’ group. I am seeing some track and field training in our little girl’s future, but first you have to walk before you can run. Addison should have no problem with so many people cheering her on.

PS: Thank you to the weather gods for giving us a small break in the torrential downpour Sunday morning…we actually saw a bit of sunshine too.
