The first cold of the season can’t stop a busybody toddler.

The dreaded first cold of the season has hit the McYong household. Addison was the first to succumb to the neverending snotty nose. Now I am suffering, without the snot faucet thankfully, but it does feel like I’ve been hit with a ton of bricks or taken a large dose of Nyquil. Aaron has a sore throat but has been limping along. Unlike the pre-princess days when we were footloose and fancy free, a sick day does not entail 24 hours in PJs catching up on PVR movies. It is pretty much like a regular day, except everything seems much more exhausting.

After the first couple of days, Addison seems to be on her way to recovery. Her usual MO when sick is to stop eating, but her appetite is improving day by day. We’ll take that as a good sign.

For fun, I’ve uploaded a video Aaron put together showing the princess’ progression from quadrupedal to bipedal. He always laughs at the spot where Addison takes a tumble. Aaaaaah….parent humour!

Love,

Elaine, Aaron and Addison

      • oh well, enjoyed the giggles and the music. Sounds like party time ! The video screen comes up black and then when it plays it becomes blank.

      • @ Brenda – IT advice – maybe try a different browser such as Firefox or Chrome or an upgrade of your Flash player (all free downloads just google them on the web) 🙂

  1. Super super cute!!!!! Love seeing the progression!!!!!!!! Wow!!! Amazing! She looks like a little giraffe with unsure wobbly legs!! Soon she will be running everywhere!!!! 🙂

  2. What a pricesless video! Katelyn loved watching it with me. That will be a great piece to look at years from now. Hope you all feel better soon.

  3. great video Elaine, so enjoy reading/watching your blog on Addison. She’s such a trooper (as are her parents!) and man, she’s walking better than i am these days after my total hip replacement — she will be my inspiration now 🙂

  4. Wow that was a pretty harsh stack, but I have to admit I giggled at Aaron’s ‘oh nooooo!’ She is such a little speed demon with her pusher. Lovely montage, love the matching denim skirts, and love that her first steps unassisted were to Mommy.
