An addendum to the adventures of the Princess and the Potty at the GranFondo

Whistler GranFondo 2013-09-07 at 11-14-32

After my last post, my sister Jen pointed out I missed relaying the best parts of the whole Princess and the Potty story. And she’s right. See, for almost an hour before Aaron crossed the finish line at the GranFondo, I kept asking Addison if she needed to go to the potty. She was squirming around in that way only kids who need to go squirm, but she insisted she was fine. Now honesty and toddlers don’t necessarily go hand in hand, so I told her to ride her bike around in the hopes it would distract her long enough for Aaron to show up.

Of course, you know how the rest of the story goes. It didn’t work. But here’s the punch line I completely forgot to mention…after all that, when Auntie Jen set up the potty in the bushes by the day parking lots, the Princess sat down, and proceeded to……DO NOTHING. That’s right. Nothing. She declared herself “done” and got up. By then, Aaron had already zoomed by.

And here’s the kicker. Little missy didn’t actually need to do her business for another HOUR! Yep, that’s life with Addison.

PS We did get a little extra souvenir from our weekend in Whistler – Addison came down with her first cold of the season, which she seems to be getting over just fine. I, on the other hand, feel like I’ve been run over.
