Addison has been counting down the days until this week’s road trip halfway across BC to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. She has selected about 14 DVDs, four animals, two puzzles and one game, plus numerous assorted other paraphernalia she has deemed absolutely essential for her journey. This also marks the first daddy/daughter trip for the McYongs (and hopefully just the start of many more to come). The last time we made the trip to Grand Forks, the 6-hour drive ended up as a torturous 9-hours with a little demanding toddler in the back. Aaron is confident it will go much better this time. Can’t wait to hear how he hands off snacks, changes the DVD, and wipes sticky hands while driving solo!
Alas, I may not have much time to worry about the two of them as I will in NYC, SOLO!! Woohoo! Aaron gifted me with a National Geographic photography workshop for my 40th birthday, something that has been on my bucket list. Yes, he is basking in the “wow your husband is so awesome” comments right now. That’s ok. I’m pretty sure I know who gets the better deal. Addison keeps telling everyone she and her Daddy are going to Grand Forks to “eat bad food and watch movies!” Though maybe when we compare notes upon our return home it will all come out even.
