Miracle Weekend

Before we get out to enjoy the sunshine today, I want to encourage all of you to do your part to support the BC Children’s Hospital this weekend.  For years, Aaron and I have hosted segments on the telethon and met countless families who had nothing but praise for the staff and care at Children’s.  To be honest, it didn’t really mean all that much to us…until now.  We can’t say enough about everyone at the hospital who helped give us back our little baby girl.  They nursed her to health and they nurtured us.  They were part of her cheerleading team too.  I know we also do a lot of stories about the problems in our healthcare system.  Well this is one part of the system that works miracles, despite lack of funding and resources.  The donations this weekend will help build a brand-new hospital with state of the art equipment, and that in turn can attract more miracle workers.  Dr. Gandhi, Addison’s superstar cardiac surgeon, was lured back to Canada and to Vancouver with the promise of a new hospital.  Without him, who knows where we would be today?

Please donate!

Love,

Elaine, Aaron and Addison

  1. I am so amazed by your courage and strength! Every year I am brought to tears during the miracle weekend when I am reminded of all of the lovely families who have struggled, persevered, and held on to hope. I am blessed to be a part of the miracles that occur here everyday. Thinking of you…xo
